Full Text
Oral minoxidil works as well as topical minoxidil 5% for treating people with androgenetic alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness, a double-blind, randomized study found. The results are based on data from 68 men in Brazil aged 18 to 55 years.
The researchers found no difference in hair density between the groups after treatment. Adverse effects from either drug were also mild. More people in the oral medication group experienced excessive hair growth on their body and reported headaches, and more people in the topical group experienced itching and eczema.

I won't take Minoxidil po for my baldness
Jose Gros-Aymerich, MD, Oncology, GP, Pharma | Solo private practuce
Hallo!: po minoxidil doses suggested for male pattern baldness have a cardio-vascular action, this is a strong medicine. When given to sheep for increasing wool output, quality of wool was too low for any use, sheep died from heart problems. When under finasteride po, over 12 years ago, I started having testis pain, then gynecomastia. I used Oral minoxidil is a too powerful drug, with potential serious side effects, to have indication for a merely aesthetic issue. Pls abstain.
I put for a while rogaine on my head, I felt bad, my heart rhythm changed from sinus to 'undetermined'. No need saying anything close to AFib increases chances of multiinfarct dementia. After discontinuation of rogaine, heart came back to sinus.
