I liked the academic aspect of the school. Due to the school have Jesuit beliefs, it is very well respected and a degree from their will take you far. the tight knit community makes it so that your chances of being well connected to alumni and getting internships a lot higher. The professors are all very kind, understanding and well-educated. My major is Political Science and so far I have come across so many life changing courses that have altered my way of thinking and my way of perceiving life and myself. The students here are also very kind. We have something called 'The Carroll Tradition' of automatically always holding doors for people wherever you go. You can have 10-20 people rushing in the morning going through one door while one person holds it and receives a string of praises of 'thank you's. Even though it seems like common etiquette to hold the door, many don't so we really pride ourselves with it. The only critique I have is with the cafeteria food. NEVER eat at the caf.

I have been a student at John Carroll University for two years now, and my experience has been excellent. John Carroll offers a wealth of resources, from the Career Service Center to the amazing academic advisors. However, I wish the university would provide a more diverse community. There are not many African Americans attending this college, nor does John Carroll University offer scholarships to people of color

The staff and faculty at John Carroll are simply amazing. I found real advocates in them, and I am not sure if my experience would have been as successful without them. I also loved many of the courses I took. They have a decent variety with unique topics, for the humanities at least. I’m not as familiar with their STEM courses. Going to John Carroll, I had some great academic opportunities like internships, studying abroad etc. They also have many opportunities to get involved on campus and the community through clubs and service opportunities.
