Ahold Delhaize USA has promoted two employees — including a 20-year Target veteran — to new C-suite roles.
The parent company ofFood Lion, Giant Food, The Giant Company, Hannaford and Stop & Shop has named Sanja Krajnovic as chief supply chain officer and Keith Nicks as chief commercial and digital officer. The appointments come weeks after the company appointed a newchief information officer.
Sanja Krajnovic
Sanja Krajnovic has been promoted from executive VP of Ahold Delhaize USA Distribution and Ahold Delhaize USA Transportation to chief supply chain officer.
Krajnovic joined the company in August 2022. Prior, she served as senior VP of store operations at Dollar General, where she oversaw 9,300 U.S. locations. Before that, she spent 25 years with Target Corp., most recently as group VP of global supply chain and logistics. In her various roles at Target, Krajnovic directed multi-site functions across retail operations, food, global supply chain and logistics, and led numerous strategic initiatives and transformations.
“Given the scope of her role leading one of the largest supply chains on the East Coast, with more than 20 distribution centers and an expansive transportation network, it is important to have Sanja and her teams represented within our U.S. leadership group,” said said JJ Fleeman, CEO of Ahold Delhaize USA., CEO of Ahold Delhaize USA. “Sanja has helped further solidify our self-distribution model as a competitive edge in the markets where the U.S. brands operate, with nearly 90% of our network now self-distributed."

Keith Nicks
Keith Nicks has been promoted from the role of chief digital officer, and will now lead commercial capabilities for theAhold Delhaize USA’s private brands and sourcing and merchandising services, bringing them closer together with core digital capabilities like retail media and monetization, omnichannel marketing, product experience and design, and e-commerce fulfillment partnerships.
Nicks joined Ahold in April 2024 as chief digital officer. Prior to that, from January 2014 to February 2024, he served as the digital and e-commerce officer of the company’s Peapod Digital Labs wing. Nicks started his career at Food Lion where he held positions of increasing leadership, including category manager, director of operations, director of marketing, and director of loyalty and digital marketing.

Netherlands-based Ahold Delhaize operates more than 2,000 stores in 23 U.S. states across its banners.
